Xmas Countdown IX: "Reality" by Black Merda

There are nine more more days to Xmas and since it was the worst year ever we're counting down the 10 most depressing holiday tunes of all time! Today it's Black Merda's "Reality" from the Detroit funk-rockers' obscure self-titled debut, a dark minor-key reflection on the political and philosophical issues of the day facing Black communities in the U.S. and elsewhere. Not much has changed! Is it a Christmas song? You be the judge!

"Yes you were brought up in the Christmas spirit/
You couldn't hardly wait for the days to near it/
And you think your country is a great democracy/
Well they just killed your priest for helping folks like me..."
