We've had some great jazz piano on this list already, including records by Vince Gualardi and Dave Brubeck. An Oscar Peterson Christmas gives those guys a run for their money, as befits a legendary talent. Peterson recorded this album in 1995, at the beginning of his last decade as a performer, and he is at the top of his powers here, playing with an ease and gracefulness and generosity alongside a jumping band of seasoned sidemen. Rolling Stone ranked this a #37 on its "Essential Christmas Albums" list. This is one of the few records played in the Canadian Parliament Buildings at this time of year! It swings lightly and is highly recommended.
